Song of the Day: Other Shore

Check out "Other Shore", by The California Honeydrops.
This is such an upbeat song....despite the fact that it's about the occasion of the death of a loved one and considering the possibility of rejoining them in the afterlife.  If you're dealing with a grief experience, I expect you will find it to be uplifting.

Song of the Day : The Race

If you need a little encouragement today, you should enjoy this song by The Steel Wheels.  The title is "The Race", which I would have named "It Must Be Run".

Song of the Day - T-Bone Shuffle

...and while we're looking at oldies...
Jesse Colin Young - founder of the 60's band 'The Youngbloods' - did this cover of the blues standard "T-Bone Shuffle".  His cover is very upbeat and wears well over time.

Song of the Day: Dance to the music

Maybe it's just me, but Sly & the Family Stone always seemed like they were having a good time -   Especially on this cut: "Dance to the Music".  Enjoy.

Song of the Day - I can't dance

Genesis' "I Can't Dance", 1992.  One of only 2 songs by them that I actually like.  Personally, I think that the chorus is very primal.  I like the way it uses the octave interval to ratchet up the emotional intensity.  But that's just me.

Song of the Day - 2014 Skinny Dippin

It's cold out today.

Here's a song to take the chill off by a rising country group whom I recently discovered.  Edens Edge, performing "Skinny Dippin" from their first album.

The group uses traditional instrumentation and country blues elements...but I find their approach to be pretty fresh.

Hope you like it.

Song of the Day - 2014 I'm Feeling Fine

"I'm Feeling Fine" by The Blackwoods, 1952.  This song is more than a little dated, but it still brings a smile.
